I saw a very strange thing today in Edinburgh, a bank occupying a bank building! Bank buildings in Scotland are an architectural genre to themselves and these days house anything and everything but banks. The same seems to be happening to police boxes, another such genre hijacked only once by Dr. Who....doubt they'll get that one back! The Scottish ones were always red in my memory, and it wasn't till I viewed a colour TV that I was shocked to realise that the London versions were navy blue. But I digress...here is a Scottish one put to good new use in Edinburgh....in truth, having a sandwich and cup of tea inside was pretty much their original function for the tired PCs taking a break from their beat.
