Dawn on Kaitorete Spit

Another gorgeous early morning down on the spit. This view is looking up towards French Peak in the far distance.

After my visit here I stopped by Lake Ellesmere/Te Waihora to take some more bird shots of the usual suspects; spoonbills, pied stilts, black swans, brown teals, shoveler ducks and the like.

More good weather is forecast tomorrow - if I'm up early, maybe I'll head down to the shore again.
