a moment between squalls

The boy is here staying the weekend with us for the first time for a while. He is here at his own request, which is nice.

We had lunch, chatted about all sorts of things, from the components he built his computer with and the whys and wherefores of upgrading them, to the possibility of making energy with magnets. And all kinds of things inbetween.

We went down to Toe Head and walked on the cliffs. It was very cold. He thought he was scared of heights but discovered that he isn't. He was impressed by the promontory fort and the stone arches. Afterward we stopped off at Toe Head beach to observe the erosion there. He brought home several rocks for identification.

Now we've had dinner and he has had a play with photoshop. This picture is his favourite.
And we are getting ready to head off to the cinema to see Non-Stop, an action packed thriller with Liam Neeson.
