Beverley

It was sunny with a cold wind this morning so we took Dylan for a run on Beverley Westwood.  The Westwood is a vast area of open land comprising a racetrack, a golf course and lots of land for horse riding and walking the dog.

From there we walked into the town, heading past St Mary's church, through the Saturday market to Beverley Minster towering over the town.

Emma and Andy arrived this afternoon and we had a late lunch at Sails Cafe at Skidby Mill. The four sail mill is the last one working in Yorkshire and still has all its associated outbuildings.  They also have a very nice restaurant in the grounds.

After, we lit the woodburner and relaxed at the lodgings with the papers and sorting photos whilst Emma and Andy looked at prospective rental property n London.

The picture is of North Bar, a gateway used as a defence against invaders, built in 1409/10 at a cost of £97. It is one of the main routes into Beverley.
