Standing up to Racism and Fascism - London

Along with about 30 friends and comrades from Norwich (plus about 1,000 others from other towns and cities) I attended a rally and demonstration in London to mark the UN Anti-racism day.

There were speakers and bands and lots of great conversations to be had and much to think about.

Some speakers spoke about the devastating effect the acts of racists and fascists had had on the lives of themselves and their families. This young woman spoke with incredible dignity about how her elderly father had been murdered on his way home one evening after Friday prayers.

Another amazing speaker was Carol Duggan, aunt of Mark Duggan who was shot by the police. She was passionate, angry but also spoke with amazing dignity and strength. You can hear her speak at another event by following this link if you wish.
