Crummock Water - the tree

Today our week long quest for the ultimate shot of the solitree culminated on the shores of Crummock Water. The weather started out looking fairly grim so the first part of the day was spent doing various gardening tasks in the woods alongside the National Trust car park at Buttermere. Once all of the offensive looking twigs and sticky up bits of bracken had been tidied away we moved out onto the lake shore. The day ended in the cafe at Nichol End Marina. The staff looked thrilled when we all turned up five minutes before closing time, however I now know where to obtain the mother of all scones!
