Sulphur City

I work in Rotorua and took this shot today of the fence that surrounds our depot. The rust that appears on the post and entire fence is created by the sulphur air or (hydrogen sulphide emissions) that are given off from thermal activity within the city.

This has a rotten egg smell which is noticed but disappears apron arrival to the city.

Rotorua has a lot of thermal activity including mud pools, geysers and hot thermal springs that attract tourists from around the world and has some of the most stunning lakes (17) in New Zealand.

In the meantime I'll arrange for the fence to be repaired once again this year and plan some blip lake shots for the future.
