Hacked Off

You see, I'd bought this nice top, but it had a funny tie-thing at the hem which sat right over my fat tummy didn't work for me and I thought it'd be a doddle to cut that off and have a straight hem.

So I unpicked and measured and chopped then found my all-singing, all-dancing, sewing-machine-with-a-million-fancy-stitches didn't actually have one that overlocked the raw edge without puckering and generally making a lumpy wodge of it. Fortunately, like any good seamstress, I'd found all this out by experimentation on the offcut, not on the actual garment.

Anyway, I cobbled something together and re-hemmed it, and it'll have to do.
