Peacock butterfly

If you are a UKIP councillor, or the Bishop of Carlisle, you may have been expecting cataclysmic floods today, now that same-sex marriage is legal in England and Wales. But the weather has been fabulous, and the butterflies, like the flags over Whitehall, have been rainbow-coloured.
