Coronet Cinema, Notting Hill, London

William Sprague designed the Notting Hill Coronet as a theatre, and it opened in 1898. But it wasn't successful as a theatre and started showing films gradually from 1916.

Sprague designed many other London theatres including the Geilgud, Ambassadors and Aldwych theatres.

Famously, the Coronet is the location in the film Notting Hill where Hugh Grant watches a film wearing diving goggles.
