San Diego Tartan Day...

...is today.
International Tartan Day is tomorrow.
The House of Scotland Pipe Band is wearing the NEW San Diego District Tartan while they play.

On March 13, 2013, then amended on May 27, 2013, a brand new tartan was declared with the Scottish Register of Tartans in Edinburgh, Scotland. There is no other like it in the world. This new tartan was then commissioned and is made only at the Lacharron Mill in Scotland.

The colors reflect the many aspects of San Diego:
The Flag of San Diego City and County - Red, Green & Gold
The Pacific Ocean - Blue
The Torrey Pines - Green
The U.S. Navy and Marines - Navy, Red & Gold
The Padre's and Chargers - Blue, White & Gold
