Lost cat found

On Monday night 11 year-old Chase Kitteh went missing. Chase's owner, our friend D, was very worried about him. He's quite a timid creature and doesn't spend much time outdoors. Before long all D's contacts were frantically calling for Chase's return across all manner of media. Even Ian Rankin joined in by tweeting the "lost" poster to his 71.6k followers.

After Chase spent a second night away from home last night, Mr hazelh decided that he would go out on his bike and hunt for him. And guess what? My ace detective husband managed to find the fugitive!

The cat had been spotted just a couple of streets away from his house by another friend of ours. She had no idea that this was a lost cat until she bumped into Mr hazelh prowling around the neighbourhood at lunch time today. When Mr hazelh explained what he was up to, the pair of them realised that the mystery was solved. Mr hazelh contacted D with the news, and she was soon reunited with her beloved pet. Not long afterwards the happy news hit Facebook. You can see just how many people were concerned about Chase from the number of likes and comments on the Facebook post pictured above.

What I love most about the photo in my blip is that even though you can't see D's mouth, her eyes tell you that she is grinning like crazy.

By the way, D's parents wrote a lovely letter to us last year to say how much they appreciated that she has us as friends to guide her. Here's the evidence that this guidance now extends to the cat too ;-)

Exercise today: a new PB on the morning run (26'34"), sit-ups and weights, then 1 hour walk to work.
