Home Brewing

I have enjoyed making beer for many years and recently I came across a recipe for the Belgium Trappist beer, Chimay. The challenge is obtaining the Chimay yeast; I am attempting to obtain this from a bottle of the original. I spoke to the guy in my home brew store and asked him what the back up plan would be if I'm not successful; his answer, "buy another bottle and try again". You only need the sediment in the bottom of the bottle so the rest of the beer is consumed by the person attempting to extract the yeast.

For those who don't know this wonderful beer, it is like drinking liquid velvet! But at 9% alcohol it is best drunk at home!

I will keep you informed of progress.
