Woodland

It's hard to imagine that this patch of fungi and the tiny patch of woodland that it lies within is just a couple of hundred metres from where I sit. This is the 'recovered' woodland in Pilrig Park, where dozens, perhaps hundreds, of used needles have recently been removed, and which is now a very attractive little spot. And this is a magnificent patch of mushrooms which doubtless has been used to educate the children of Parkside School next door about the wonders of fungus.

Happy to be home. Happy it's the weekend. It's been quite a week. And I certainly don't have the energy to go out again. Sorry to be missing an Edinburgh blipmeet, although I suspect that there's been a similar outburst of tiredness in many places...

And watching a fascinating series of items on Landward about the First World War.
