Door Nails

Chantler's Shakespeare Challenge for April has now moved onto phrases in common use today but originally from a Shakespeare play. Today's phrase is "as dead as a doornail" from Henry V.

This got my mind thinking of old buildings with interesting doors (for nails) or churchyards - but I work in Farnborough with a concrete mid to late 20th century town centre and surrounding area, so not a lot a opportunity there.

I then recalled St Andrew's Church in Frimley Green - a pretty little Edwardian Church which I pass on the way home. Tonight I was in luck, as the main entrance was bathed in the golden late afternoon sun, and even better, the door was a magnificent old fashioned plank design with those proverbial dead nails!
