The artist and the band

I’m used to cameras and phones at gigs, and sometimes tablets, but I’ve never before watched an artist paint live music. He started with splashes of colour, in time to the music, and gradually the forms appeared. Entrancing. When he’d finished, Merlin introduced himself.

Edit with thanks for comments below and emails: I knew such paintings were made, notably by fellow-blipper willllwynbedw, but I'd never seen the process. Much more interesting to watch than cameras in action and a huge amount less irritating than the person in front of you videoing the whole thing on a tablet.
