Life on the Good Intent

Home Fire

We joined the throng to enjoy the spectacular show in the Helix Park celebrating the Year of Homecoming and the celebration of John Muir's life, but most of us were there to see the fabulous pyrotechnic, sound and light display centred on the Kelpies.

It was a tad chaotic, I think the organisers were a bit overwhelmed, but mostly good natured muttering only going on. As we queued at Falkirk Stadium we were treated to a great clear pass of the ISS before heading of into the park.

We meandered through the park taking pictures en route, till we got to a bottle neck crossing the canal and be set free to walk all the way round the Kelpies for the first time. My only gripe about the whole evening - they could have placed an installation at that point although the taller folk in the crowd could see the ongoing show at the Kelpies. We are allowed through in groups for each show but it was worth the wait.

I found the flares a bit difficult to handle technically so my shot is not as masterly as Delphwynd's.
However an amazing experience and a fabulous addition to our local area.
