Fashionable Cromer before 1WW

Cromer developed as a fashionable sea-side resort after the late arrival of the railway in 1877.

Fashionable hotels were built of which only one survives, the Hotel de Paris by the renowned Art Nouveau Norwich architect Skipper. It looks down upon Cromer Pier opened in 1901 and retains a little of the grandeur that attracted minor European royalty, and the fashionable to the North Norfolk Coast in the decade before the First World War.
