Warning notice & bluebells, Bantham Ham

Bantham beach and the Avon estuary suffered much during the terrible storms that hit south Devon this past winter, with vast quantities of sand being swept away from the protecting dunes and into the river.
The part of the beach with low cliffs, not dunes, was also eroded, creating dangerous edges, hence the main warning.
The adders, Britain's only poisonous snakes, live in the marram grass on, and the bracken behind, the dunes, but usually avoid people, so unless you wander off the paths and the grass, you are very unlikely to be bitten! (And I hear Kingsbridge hospital stocks anti-venom if you are!)
