Easter Bonnet Contest, Golden Gate Park

For 35 years, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, the kabuki-inspired cross-dressing nuns-of-fun (and community service organization), have hosted Easter Sunday in the Park. The event begins with an egg hunt for the kids, features an afternoon of live music and entertainment and culminates in an irreverent San Francisco tradition--the Hunky Jesus contest.

As much as I wanted to see who won, it was hot and the music was loud, so I never made it to the end, but I enjoyed the costumes and the delight people took in showing off their finery.
