BUDS AND BLOOMS

On our walk this morning, near the entrance, I noticed that the stapelias were in bud and a few of the blooms had opened. Checking the plant at midday, even more blooms were opening and there were visiting flies of the "blue bottle" variety and a distinct putrid aroma.
