Feeding the nestlings

Mom and Dad arrived this morning for a visit and they will be here for a little more than a week. It is so good to see them.

After settling in and catching a few winks, Mom and I went for a walk in the Park Schinkeleilanden. We spotted Eurasian Coots feeding their nestlings near the Olympiakanaal. There were about eight hungry little babies vying for attention and food from their parents. Both mommy and daddy were foraging for food and feeding their offspring.These birds are called "meerkoets" in Dutch.

Afterwards, the four of us went to a lovely neighbourhood restaurant where we enjoyed Italian style pizza.
