The King of Kirstenbosch

Bernard is a King Protea who lives in Kirstenbosch gardens and loves every minute of it. He's never traveled anywhere, has never wanted to go anywhere, despite numerous letters from Michelle who lives on a hillside in California near our house.

Michelle is great, she has a terrific sense of humor and a really positive attitude, and I know that while she loves to travel, she will always miss her home. I just wish she wouldn't keep using our phone to order pizza when we are away, but small price to pay for her company, and she doesn't eat a lot or do it often.
