Two VIPS at the Convention

Today was the first day of the Photographic Society of New Zealand’s annual convention being held here in Blenheim. It is hosted by our Marlborough Camera Club and a National Exhibition of first class photographs is being run at the convention as well. Known as Natex, our neighbouring Nelson Camera Club has been responsible for organising that exhibition.
So it is full on for many of us until the Convention closes next Sunday. I just hope I am going to be able to keep up with daily blips. I may just have to resort to using my iPhone app.
I photographed our Mayor talking with Simon Woolf. Simon has become internationally famous as the NZ Royal Tour photographer. He is the one on the right of the image toting the Nikon Camera. Simon’s famous image of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge with little Prince George snuggling up to her shoulder and Prince William tucked in behind them has gone viral. The image has been taken up by the media all around the world, even in China. At the last count it has had 1.4 million hits. All of us who know Simon are really chuffed for him.
