The Western Larch...

is just one of the many types of trees on my property and is really rather beautiful. They shed their "needles" in the fall after they've turned bright yellow and come spring, begin putting out these tender green spirals. More rain has fallen, so these ones have captured a drink for later... Tamarack is the Algonquian name for the species and means "wood used for snowshoes".
Posted on Wednesday, along with the current day's blip but you know how that goes...
