Mobile Lovers - reputedly by 'Banksy'

An image of this street art work was posted on Banksy's website on 14th April 2014. Fans of the Bristol born Street artist's work scoured the streets of the city to try and find where it had been painted. It was discovered on a wall in Clement St. Bristol on the following day.

Staff from the nearby Broad Plains Boys Club removed the work safely from the wall and took it into the Club. Following intense media interest the Club has passed the artwork to Bristol Museum and Art Gallery for safe keeping. There it joins the 'Paint Pot Angel' on view in the Museum which is a reminder of the 'Banksy versus Bristol' Museum exhibition in 2009. It will remain on view in the museum till its future is decided.

Banksy's global fame has in this instance drawn attention to the financial situation of the Broad Plains Youth Club which works with young people in the centre of the city.
The Mayor has asked that people consider making a donation to the Club via the collection box, where thoughts about 'Mobile Lovers' future can be left.

By the look of both boxes people have been very generous and also given their feedback about the future of the painting.
