A Long Journey

A belated posting of last night's blip. This is Vice Commodore Christophe Ranger who, along with his wife Agnès, drove all the way from La Rochelle to the Aveyron to hear me speak. The event was held in an old farmhouse with an audience of around fifty gathered around a huge cheminée and a log fire, to hear extracts from The Blackhouse read by an actress, followed by a lively discussion about the book. What a lovely man - vice-president of La Rochelle's classic yacht club, an inveterate sailor, and lover of The Hebrides.

Got home from the event around midnight, only to rise at the crack of dawn to set off on a 3-day drive to Spain.
