Arrived in Istanbul with my friend Daria. After a 2 hour flight, followed by a almost 2.5 hour wait in the passport control line, we made it out alive to the streets of Istanbul. The passport control line was by far the worst either of us had ever experienced. The longest line in history, but we found ways to make it more fun....by lots and lots of people watching.

We started a game of "spot the Russian." Daria is from Russia and there were lots of flights of people passing us that were form Russia, so she taught me how to notice the facial features of people that are Russian. I have decided its not a offensive game because she is Russian and it wasn't mean, we were just crazy bored and figuring out how to tell differences in people. We only played for a few minutes anyways. We were too bored to even continue with anything.

After we finally got out and some man behind us almost got tazzed because he had been waiting in the line for 2 hours like us and they told him he needed some other visa thing so he needed to go back and get it. He freaked out and got really mad and security had to come. after lots of yelling and the tazzer threats...he went back. Daria and I were right there with him in sprite. We had already discussed in the line about half way through that if something like that were to happen to us that we would just change our flight back to Amman for that night, by some pretty souvenirs in the airport and go one home.

We took a taxi to the hotel (this is the nice view from our room), showered, got in our nice beds and headed to sleep about 1am. Explore in the morning!!!

Yay Istanbul!
