Talgarth Walking Festival

I went to the Talgarth Walking Festival today for a Map Reading Workshop and Walk. The festival is in its second year and is in a perfect setting, being in the Brecon Beacons and having the Black Mountains so close. By the amount of people in Talgarth today it certainly seems like its attracting people from far and wide, in my group we had a lady all the way from Kent. The weather certainly helped today as well, a little bit chilly but the sun was out and therefore good walking weather.

The Map Reading workshop was good as we got some theory to start with, and then went out around Talgarth to practice map reading skills. I think everyone agreed it was much better to actually practice out in the field, rather than be stuck in the classroom all day.

This is Mynydd Troed which looks a right challenge to get up.
