A-League Grand Final

This morning I was up early and was cycling around the many fine bikeways of Brisbane, reaching as far as Nudgee Beach and doing 75km in total.

In the afternoon, I headed back to the hotel and then on to the Suncorp Stadium for the A-League Grand Final between Brisbane Roar and Western Sydney Wanderers. The stadium was full - 51,150 crowd - and the atmosphere was tremendous. Wanderers took the lead and Roar equalised with 4 minutes left on the clock to take the match into extra time before going on to score the winner and bring the A-League trophy to Brisbane for the 3rd time.

I've been to games here before and it usually been subdued atmosphere and a small crowd - today the crowd was noisy and the atmosphere amazing. Western Sydney have an amazing set of fans and they were singing their hearts out for the whole match.

Football in Australia has come a long way in a short time.
