Friday 27 October 2006: Radio Daze

The weather was so bad it turned into a radio day all day. The big deal on Radio 4 at the moment is the Suez Crisis - it's fifty years on- so we've lots of historical programmes and dramas built around the theme AND the scandal in The Archers. For the uninitiated The Archers is the longest running radio soap in the world, it's been going for 55 years - 'an everyday story of farming folk', I feel as if it's just part of my life, anyway, the hot news is that Ruth Archer( oh no!), the wife of the main character's son, is about to have an affair with the cowman Sam! Can we bear the tension? We'll find out later tonight. Is this a wee bit sad.............?
