A Bigger Splash!

What an outrageously wonderful and hedonistic day I have just had! My friend Finola and I rendezvoused in the car park at Ballydehob then headed east towards Inchydoney - our destination a Spa at the rather gorgeous Inchydoney Hotel  Talk about pampered! Bedecked in white robes and fluffy white towels we first lounged around in the pool - a warm sea water affair with lots of little areas where you could float and have certain parts bombarded with water jets. The ones pulverising the shoulders were especially effective. A quick sauna and then we went off for our treatments! I had an algae wrap! As smelly and green as its sounds but it was blissful. Covered from head to toe I was then wrapped up in clingfilm, then a blanket, then buttoned into something like a huge duvet and then another blanket put on top. I then had a mini facial, face mask, head massage and eye thingy. We then relaxed in the relaxation room availing of free and plentiful fruit before going off, still in our robes, to partake of afternoon tea on the terrace.  Cucumber sandwiches with no crusts for me, salmon for Finola and then a selection of tantaslising little cakes. The terrace overlooked the sea. The view was incredible for Inchgdoney has the most amazing sandy beaches and today was glorious. We watched a sea angler in waders, a sulkie and pony going at high speed, lots of little children digging with buckets and spade, tons of shorts and wobbly flesh  and someone trying to get a hang glider going. It felt like San Tropez!! (really Yvonne!) Finola then went off for her serious facial and I had another bout in the pool, took full advantage of all free products then went down to the beach and paddled.
The trouble with this kind of thing is you really need to do it every week! That could be pushing my luck.
