A Walk in the Park

We had another lovely day and I had to go and post a letter so took a short walk around our neighbourhood. This shot was taken going into Abberley Park. I tried to find something out about the park but couldn't find much out at all apart from:

The name Abberley was from Abberley in Worcestershire, England.

Thomas James Maling (1836-1922), an importer and merchant, built his home on this land in 1863, naming it Abberley. He was the only son of Admiral Maling of Abberley, Worcestershire.

The property was purchased by the council from the estate of John Hobbs Kirk (1856?-1938) in May 1939 for £4,250.

The park was opened on 17 February 1940 as part of the city’s centennial celebrations. Many of the lime and elm trees were planted in the 1860s. Taken from and for more info.

Last year there were lots of Monarch butterfly's in the trees at this time of year.. I couldn't find any today. It is only a small park and it was so peaceful to walk through it today.
