THE DØRNBERG HOUSE IN SON

The oldest part of the house is from the 1600s, and the building got it's name because the Norwegian painter Carl Dørnberg lived there from 1896 until his death in 1940.

The painter was an eccentric and there are are many stories about him. He had a wooden leg, a large hat and two pistols that he called Kitty and the brother of Kitty. He fired several gunshots inside the house and the holes after the bullets are still there.

Now two artists live there and here you can get a peak inside the house. There house is like a gallery from with paintings by Dørnberg.
