Chateau at Ivoire, Lac Leman

Yvoire on Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) was fortified by Amadeus V (1249 – 1323), called the Great for his wisdom and success as a ruler. Amadeus was the Count of Savoy from 1285 to 1323 with Chambéry as his seat.

This fine medieval castle survives on the French lake-side in what is new Haute Savoie.
