Orkney Day 3

A very leisurely start to the day and it's still windy, overcast and cool but we got rugged up and had a walk to the Ferry Terminal for T to inspect the boats moored there and watch 'Pentalina' arrive from the mainland, expertly berth and discharge her cargo and visitors to the Island. This lovely old building was on the roadside and just begged to be photographed.

By the afternoon the sun came out and we went back to Kirkwall to see more of the town, visit the majestic St Magnus Cathedral, then to the airport for some plane spotting (for you know who!!) and then a lovely drive to explore a bit more of the East side of the Island and to Deerness for a bracing walk around the Nature Reserve at Mull Head and look at The Gloup (a collapsed sea cave). I saw some Lapwings too.

I'm seriously behind with commenting for which I apologise. Might change this photo and do another collage, if I've got time!!
