Morbid - relating to unpleasant subjects (such as death)

This is the home of our local Funeral Director. Although it’s a bit of a morbid place it is usually one of the most colourful frontages around. It’s looking a bit sad at the moment and is probably due for replanting with its Summer blooms. It is usually filled with highly coloured beautiful flowers and looks really joyful. It’s still raining so it was hard to show it off at its best.

When we were in Australia last year we passed the premises of a Funeral Director on a really busy stretch of road. There was a large sign outside which said “Slow Down, Drive carefully ………… We can wait!!” Even people in morbid professions can have a sense of humour.
