Lattice

Awhile back I took a piecrust-making workshop at a local bakery, and this is the first time I've tried the new recipe. The secret is butter. We are about to cut into the rhubarb/strawberry pie to see if it set.* I'd never made a lattice before and I was very proud of the weaving until I was about to put it in the oven and discovered a forgotten strip of dough on the counter. See if you can spot the emergency solution.

I like the special effects here because they remind me of a page torn out of an old cookbook or a ladies' magazine.
