Sotogrande

Finally made it into bed around 3.30am which meant a bit of a lie in this morning! The rest of the morning was spent relaxing, sunbathing by the pool.

This afternoon we had a quick trip into Puerto Banus as my friend, Julia, had to exchange a shirt. I managed to pick up a few essential clothing items too! Then it was on to Sotogrande, a luxurious residential estate in the province of Cadiz. Home to the Santa Maria Polo Club which is considered one of the best polo clubs in the world and also to an Equestrian Club, Tennis and Paddle Club, Sotogrande Marina for sailing enthusiasts and five top golf courses. Along with fine restaurants and upmarket boutiques, the resort has attracted many of the rich and famous to acquire summer houses here. The architecture ranges from traditional Andalucian to 21st century modern - the houses/apartments lining the marina are a variety of bright colours. We had a stroll around the marina, popped into the boutiques (didn't buy anything!) and then back to the apartment to get ready for an evening in La Duquesa.
