Friends At The Farm

Another fabulous day out today!
With Mrs C and her lovely boys - Mr L, Mr R and Mr C.
Miss E and Mr L have known each other since they were only a few weeks old and Mr R is only six months older than Miss L.
They have been friends all their lives. I love that.
Miss E and Mr L are so similar: clever, sensitive, moody, thoughtful and fairly temperamental.
Miss L and Mr R are like peas in a pod: funny, scatty, clumsy, charming and mischievous.
Two sets of siblings so different from each other but so like their friends!!
We had a great day at Thrift Farm which is only ten minutes up the road from our house. I can't believe we've never been before!
It's a nice low key open farm run primarily by adults with learning difficulties. Today was an open day to launch the new opening hours which now include weekends so there was lots going on. We saw sheep sheering, played on tractors, petted guinea pigs, chicks and rabbits (in your face Mead Farm!!), played on a bouncy castle, played football, jumped off tables(!), played for hours in the adventure playground and paddocks, saw all kinds of ugly geese, chickens, ducks, Rheas, donkeys, Shetland ponies, sheep and pigs, carded wool and watched it being spun on a spinning wheel.
I resisted the hog roast and enjoyed a yummy picnic and a couple of cups of tea.
Miss E bought an umbrella and wind chimes with her marble money and Miss L bought stickers and a frog egg timer.
What a great day!
And topped off by the fact the Little Misses fell asleep on the way home - at 4pm - and have gone straight to their beds! I can't imagine why they're tired, they only stayed up until 1030pm last night.....
So it's a nice quiet, relaxing evening for me and Mr K. Woohoo!
