Clarity

It's funny how a chance change in my homeward journey on Tuesday has allowed me a rediscovery of Holyrood. I lived here 6 years ago for a decade and it was like my back garden; now I rarely venture in.

Bupa's Great Winter Run takes place here tomorrow and preparations are well underway for hospitality, crowd and snow control. There was a time where I'd have been happy to line up with the others but my ageing, crumbling knees need to be preserved for the tennis courts.

Below this view, the swans and geese were honking loudly - clearly not happy with the very slow reappearance of their liquid loch.
