Crannog

A great blipday out with the usual suspects Himself , Freespiral and BAT, plus new blippers Ju4bluz and MIPlaice.

We met at and drank lots of coffee while we waited for the rain to stop.
I managed the little walk there with its great views of the mist draped mountains and shifting patches of sunshine.
We picnicked at Bonane Heritage Park, then while the others went on the walk to see the stone circle and so on, I sat on this rock by this little lake watching it's tiny crannog drifting aimlessly on the water. There were fish rising, a female chaffinch hovering and flitting over the water catching flies, and for one breathtaking moment a female fallow deer emerged from the woods to drink at the lake.
I felt as though I was in dreamtime and kept thinking of something the girl had said this morning - 'Sunday. Take it slow and let your soul catch up with your body'. Exactly right.

Later BAT and I drove home over the Priest's Leap, a pass through the mountains dividing Cork from Kerry and immensely spectacular, just too amazing to fit into the frame, all tumbling waterfalls, rock outcrops and fast-moving weather.

A great day out altogether, thanks everyone xx
