If you can't beat them...

A Silkie Cockeral.

This earlier part of the afternoon was taken up by visiting Clickychicks most recent project, again (More details here). A lot of measuring was done accompanied by theorising and planning. This including the inevitable cup of tea took us to lunch time.

After the visit we planned to go to Keswick for CC to check out a care home which FredaH might use when we are away at shows etc. After that as we were coming back along the A66 we decided to pop into the Cocklakes Farm Shop to do some food shopping. This included a coffee in their coffee shop- well it had to didn't it? After we came out I wandered across to the fishing lake (blipped here) and took some shots of the yellow flag Irises which I was quite pleased with, but they were another flower and I felt I wanted a change.

Forunately there is a small group of poultry in an enclosure near the shop. These included a pair of Silkies and their chicks. The Cockeral was showing particularly well so for today I have chosen this portrait of him.
