365 #161 - Natural Smile

A natural smile can be tricky to obtain at times but here's one of my favourite methods to try.

1. Position the subject for the shot.
2. Direct them to stare directly into the lens and try very hard not to move their head at all.
3. Tell them to close their eyes
4. Give them a moment and then slowly say "Okay, whatever you do now, do NOT start laughing." (And be ready).

Of course they start smiling (or indeed, laughing) but they're trying not to and that means they usually keep their head in position.

Result achieved and it's FUN too.
