Stories of my Mum

My Mum decided to get her ears pierced when she was about 70 years old. She had never done so before as my Dad thought ear piercing was inappropriate. I won't repeat what he actually used to say about it.

Once she'd been brave enough to go ahead with the deed, she wasted little time in amassing a considerable collection of ear baubles. Today I was sorting through them.

I still don't have pierced ears... wonder if I'll ever pluck up the courage to disobey my father?
