Learning day by day

Clyde the Burrowing Owl goes for a walk

William had an inset day today so after dropping Carys off at school we headed to Whipsnade. We had a lovely day with William being very grown up and accepting of the fact we couldn't do everything that we would normally do as we had to leave at 2.20pm to get back in time to collect Carys.

Having said all that we managed to squeeze in two bird shows (one where my hat got hit by the wing of a low flying Harris Hawk!), one sealion show, one elephant talk, the lions, meerkats, cheetahs, hippos, and the lemurs twice! Not a bad day all in all.

Carys came home with a letter telling me she has been selected to represent school next Thursday in the Hitchin Schools athletics competition. She has been selected to run the 40m (A) and the 40m relay. She is very excited and has been 'training' with William in the back garden!

I am loving the weather and really hope it lasts. It is just right in my mind, hot but not so hot as to make it impossible to sleep.
