That Will Do!

Tramtastic

On this lovely, summery day it was our turn to sample the much-derided, over-hyped, incredibly inconvenient-during-prolonged-construction and extremely costly trams.

But mainly because, as Edinburgh residents with an over 60's pass, we don't have to pay, so can take the trip all the way between termini for nothing.

That's what we did, having taken the (free) bus down to York Place, sat on the tram to the airport, wandered round, had a coffee and a bun then trammed back again, did a bit of shopping then bussed home.

So, what do we think of the infamous Edinburgh trams? It was hot on the sunny side, with little ventilation; the announcements were not loud enough to be sure of catching the information (and we're not deaf); we would not have known where or how to validate our passes but for watching another passholder. But it was a smooth ride, the scenery out of town is very pleasant.

Is it worth all the hassle we have endured? (Expletive deleted)

PS. I have changed the picture for yesterday's blip, having acquired guidance in the production of a diptych. This is what I'd intended but couldn't manage in time.
