Happy Winter Solstice Blippers

And what better way to celebrate the coming of the longer days than the Winter Heat Festival at Honeysuckle on the harbour.

It was training day for our new recruits which all went well. I hope we keep them and they were enthused about future volunteering with their dogs. Back home to take the Hs for a much needed walk, wedding stalking at Newcastle baths, back home to feed and drop the Hs off and then back to the harbour. There were these fire dancers (always a good show), lots of braziers of beautiful shapes and sizes, whole logs ablaze, drumming, food and wine stalls, a snow machine and some light installations. Not up to Vivid standard but it was packed with people. I chose this shot because the fire dancers/twirlers were my favourite and this chap was about to start his act but to get rid of excess fuel the sticks were thrown in the air giving off this burst of flame. Great fun to watch but children, the elderly and dogs stand well back or hairs will be singed.
