What was Happening in the City Today

I had to go to the doctor so on my way home a did a quick stop of to see what was happening in the city. It has been really warm since about 9pm last night and this morning we had a lot of sun but that despaired when I arrived into the city. A while back we had a good shower of rain. There wasn't one shot I took today that looked any good so thought they may look better in a collage.

The first thing I noticed was a big crane holding up a tree trunk in the middle of the street. It looked really odd so I watched them for a short time. They were removing some of the lovely old poplars from along the Avon river, they must have found them unsafe.

The shot on the right hand-side at the top of the college is what is left of the Centennial Recreation and Sport Centre demolition. The shot middle left, is of the man connecting the hose to get the water ready to use to dampen down dust in the demolition of the Central pool. Here is the blip on did on that last week.

The bottom left, is another building that is getting ready for demolition. They are clearing out the building at the moment. The bottom right shot is of another demolition underway. It is the dark red building.
