Barcelona Day 4

After all the culture and walking yesterday we decided on a more relaxing day taking in the Park Güell. This gorgeous once public place is now a heritage site and has an entrance fee, but is well worth visiting to see more great work by Gaudi. After seeing everything he designed for the city you can tell he had one hell of a busy life as an architect.

There are so many interesting things to see in Park Güell but once again far too many tourist for my liking especially around the many features in particular around the famous multi-coloured mosaic salamander. Once again the detail in his work was mind blowing with very few straight lines and angles.

If you're interested in this amazing place look here

So much for having an easier day, Claire dragged me around the park and more parts of the city only stopping briefly for lunch and a drink. Barcelona is a wonderful place with so much to offer, I really will have to come back again soon in the not too distant future. The lifestyle, weather, people and photography opportunities are never ending.

Todays photo is of one of the many human standing statues, He was dressed in a heavy black cloak and sitting in 30 degrees which is one hell of a day job - excuse the pun.

When I return home I'll certainly make a few sets on flickr of the people and places I encountered.

We went to see the Font màgica tonight before dinner this evening, it was quite impressive but I did more people watching than the fountain. Another late meal of tapas which included calamari, potatas bravas, salad, chicken wings washed down with a "Clara" which is a shandy made with cloudy lemonade.

I've got a feeling I'm going to sleep well tonight.

Thanks for Looking
